Hi!  Thanks for stopping by to learn a bit more about me.

At some point in time, painting stopped being a hobby and became a habit.  Painting is a way for me to express the things I feel but can’t communicate, document the past, and capture moments and people to remember. When I paint, my monkey-mind quiets and I find solace and open space.

Many of my paintings are auto-biographical, abstract, self-portraits. Many others are snapshots of feelings, emotional landscapes, dreams, or me just screwing around with color, movement, and the inside of my own mind.

Originally from beautiful Chicago, IL, I relocated to Portland, OR for 10 wonderful and rainy years. I now spend my time soaking up sun and sweating in St. Pete, FL.

I always listen to music when I paint, and find it to be a source of inspiration, motivation, and something to get lost in.  Let me know if you’d like to make me a playlist while I paint something for you.

Some of my favorite artists are Joan Mitchell, Gerhard Richter, MC Escher, Georgia O’Keefe, Rene Magritte, De Kooning, and Basquiat.

I would like to give thanks to the following people – my friends (for support and inspiration, great times, and buying my stuff), my art teachers (including the genuine Judy Bruce), and my wife for allowing me to take up space in our life and make it messy, and line our walls with paintings.
